here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions
the process
a digital denture is made using a 3D intraoral scan of your mouth — rather than traditional messy impression trays — and manufactured using computer-aided design and precision printing. the result is a more accurate fit and a far more comfortable patient experience.
not at all. the scan takes around 3 minutes and involves a small wand your clinician moves gently around your mouth. no impression tray, no gooey material, no gagging. most patients say it's one of the most comfortable dental experiences they've ever had.
from your initial scan to your fitting appointment, the process typically takes under 21 days — significantly faster than traditional denture timelines of 6–10 weeks. you'll have around four appointments: initial scan, design review, fitting, and a follow-up adjustment.
yes. smilogy dentures are designed locally and manufactured right here in australia. we don't use offshore labs. every denture meets australian dental standards and is quality-checked before fitting.
dentures for life & reprints
because your 3D scan and design file is stored securely, we can reprint your exact denture without any new scans or impressions. if you're on the dentures for life plan, reprints are included for 5 years. otherwise, reprints are available at a significantly reduced cost.
no — unless your oral structure has changed significantly, we use your stored scan file for any reprints. much faster and simpler than getting a brand new denture.
absolutely. you can upgrade to dentures for life at any time — just contact your nearest smilogy clinic or call 1300 247 867. your file is already stored, so no new scan is needed.
cost & health funds
health fund rebates may apply depending on your level of cover. digital dentures are typically claimable under major dental or prosthetics cover. check with your fund — our team can help guide you.
