Humans have a bit of a habit of putting things off. It’s natural for many of us, especially these days where we lead such busy lifestyles. But here’s the thing: the more you procrastinate, the more you’ll tend to worry about the fact you’ve not done something, and the cycle continues.

At smilogy, we recommend that our customers visit us for routine smile care every 6-12 months. If it’s been a bit longer (weeks, months… even years), we’ll always welcome you back through our doors with a smile.

It’s never too late to start taking care of your dental health. Here’s where to start and what to be aware of.

First things first: take a deep breath. You may feel anxious or even a little embarrassed about the fact you haven’t seen a dentist for a while, but we’re just glad when you manage to come back. We recommend starting with a check-up, and taking it from there.

At your first appointment, we’ll make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. All our Australian dentists and hygienists are trained to help you settle in and will go the extra mile to get to know you.

Chat with them about any concerns or fears, and they’ll build up your confidence. Let them know about any dental history if you haven’t seen them before or if it’s been a while.

smilogy check-ups are simple. We check-up, clean and add fluoride to your smile to strengthen your teeth. As part of the check-up, smilogy dentists examine your mouth, diagnosing any issues and discussing your tailored treatment options. A check-up, clean and x-rays is $149.

Ask any questions that may be on your mind – whether about costs, benefits, risks, or anything else. We’re always here to help.

We’re not here to give lectures, but time spent in between appointments can lead to a few dental problems that you’ll want to address.

For example, when plaque builds up over time, it can harden into tartar which can lead to cavities and gum disease. These can affect your holistic health and cause bad breath, which a check-up and clean will start to take care of.

All dentists, including our superstars at smilogy, are also trained to look out for serious issues such as infection and even cancer. In addition to check-ups, services such as tooth extractions, fillings, and X-rays may be recommended, to improve overall wellness.

You can even think about smile transformations while you’re here – including whitening, straightening and smile makeovers. A visit to smilogy can be super exciting.

Unlike your GP, it’s recommended that you visit your dentist regularly throughout the course of your lifetime – not just when you think something is wrong.

At smilogy, you can get to know your Australian dentist and the team very well, by seeing us every 6-12 months.

This can help us with all the preventative care that is necessary to avoid little things turning into big things with your smile. Once you come and see us, you can have peace of mind and leave feeling refreshed.

If you’ve decided it’s about time you came back to the dentist, smilogy would love to welcome you back with open arms. Whether you’ve seen us before or it’s your first visit, book online at our Edgecliff or Castle Hill clinic, or call us on 1300 247 867.

If it’s been a while since your last dental visit, we’ll welcome you back with a smile.
